“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well, can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes reality when we recognise our shared humanity.”

— Pema Chördrön

How I work

Empowering you to find the right way forward for you

I believe that you are the expert on your own life. Sometimes, however, difficult experiences, overwhelming feelings or challenging circumstances can make it difficult to see a way forward. Counselling can offer you the time, space and support to pause for a while, reflect and begin to understand what you are going through.

As a qualified counsellor and Accredited Member of the BACP, I work with adults aged 18+ and offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard, understood, accepted and valued.

A collaborative approach, centred around you

I believe that everyone has the capacity to grow and find their own way forward when they are supported within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.

For me, counselling is not about telling you what to do or directing you towards a solution that may not feel right for you. Instead, I work alongside you, collaboratively and at your own pace, helping you explore what is happening in your life and supporting you to connect with your own inner resources, strengths and values.

You do not need to have all the answers before you begin counselling. You may not even know exactly what you want to talk about. We can start wherever feels most important for you and, together, make sense of what is troubling you.

What can you expect from our sessions?

During our work together, I will listen carefully and without judgement, giving you the space to talk openly about whatever you are experiencing. I may ask open and exploratory questions to help you reflect more deeply, make sense of your experiences and consider things from different perspectives.

At times, we may explore patterns in your thoughts, feelings, relationships or experiences that you may not have noticed before. This can help you develop a greater understanding of yourself and, if you wish, explore new ways of responding to situations or making changes in your life.

I will not judge you, tell you what you should do, or lead you in a direction that does not feel right for you. Instead, I will be there alongside you, offering empathy, compassion and support as you find your own way forward.

Counselling at your pace

Everyone's experience of counselling is different. Some people benefit from a few sessions focused on a particular difficulty, while others prefer to have longer-term, open-ended counselling to explore more complex or longstanding challenges.

We can discuss what may be most appropriate for you and review this together as our work progresses. There is no expectation that you need to know from the outset how long counselling will take.

My aim is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to be yourself, explore what matters to you and move at a pace that feels manageable and right for you.

Online counselling

I currently offer online counselling for adults aged 18+ via secure video sessions using platforms such as Zoom and FaceTime.

Online counselling can offer the flexibility of accessing therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own ernvironment, wherever you are in the UK.

I currently offer online sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with some daytime and evening appointments available.

Taking the first step

Choosing a counsellor is a very personal decision, and it is completely understandable if you have questions or are unsure whether counselling is right for you.

If you feel that my approach may be a good fit for you, I invite you to get in touch. I offer an initial 50-minute consultation for £45, giving us an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether we might be able to work well together.

There is no pressure or obligation to continue. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with.

When you feel ready to take that first step, please email me, text me or call me. I would be very happy to hear from you.
